Porch & Deck Railing Repair in Bucks County, PA
A wobbly railing is not a cosmetic problem — it is the thing someone grabs when they slip. Railings loosen where they anchor: lag screws pull out of old decking, welded feet crack on iron rails, and wood balusters rot where they meet horizontal surfaces that hold water.

What this repair involves
We repair wood, vinyl, aluminum and wrought-iron railings on porches, decks, stoops and exterior stairs. That means re-anchoring posts into solid framing (not just the deck boards), replacing rotted balusters and top rails, refastening loose sections, and stabilizing iron rails whose masonry anchors have failed.
Every railing repair is checked against the load test that matters: a hard shove and a full lean. If it moves, we're not done.
Signs you need this repair
- The railing moves when you lean on it
- Posts flex at their base connection
- Balusters are loose, cracked or missing
- The top rail is soft, split or weather-checked
- Iron railing feet have cracked or pulled from concrete
- Stair rails end short or were never continuous

Railing Repair questions
My railing is iron set in concrete. Can you fix that?
Yes. Cracked feet and failed masonry anchors are repairable with new anchors and epoxy set into sound concrete. Where the concrete itself has spalled, we'll tell you what's repairable and what needs a mason.
Are there height rules for railings?
Guard rails on decks and porches above 30 inches generally need to be 36 inches high with openings under 4 inches. We repair to current safety standards and will flag anything that falls short.
Can you match decorative balusters?
Common wood and aluminum baluster profiles are readily matched. Ornate or historic ironwork may need a fabricator; we'll be straight with you about which situation you have.
